Since 1831, The Bichot family has been at the forefront of Burgundy wines. Over the course of 6 generations, the house style has become more and more refined and distinct in elegance.With Albéric Bichot at the helm since 1996, the house has focused its future on quality, minimal intervention winemaking and organic farming. The embodiment of this approach resulted in their 6 domaines being fully organically certified since 2018, while receiving praise and awards on the quality of the wines.

The Côte d’Or is the heart of Burgundy where the most prestigious wines of the region are produced. In order to highlight this exceptional terroir, the extended name of “Bourgogne Côte d’Or” has been created in 2017. Our red “Secret de Famille” (Family Secret) comes from this very limited and specific geographical area; it is indeed
crafted from a carefully sourced blend of grapes ( vineyards situated in renowned villages like Chambolle-Musigny, Nuits-Saint-Georges, Marsannay…). We treat these wines as “Villages” wines, with a “haute-couture” vinification and ageing.



Soil – Calcareous clay and granitic

Vatting – 50 % in tanks 50 % in barrels, Vatting time: 18 to 25 days

Ageing – 100% in oak barrels, Ageing time: 10 to 12 months. Proportion of new barrels: 20%

This charming wine features predominant fruity aromas of blackcurrant and wild red berries. Velvety and silky, this wine boasts soft, balanced structure on the palate, which ends with a delicately perfumed finish.

Enjoy this wine with roasted or grilled meats, poultry, fish and mild cheeses.

Serving and keeping

Serve at 15°C – 16°C (59°F – 60°F).
This wine is best enjoyed within 3 to 5 years of purchasing in order to appreciate all of its fruitiness.

James Suckling – 90 points

A prototypical Burgundian pinot that has good ripeness and the lively personality of this vintage. Some sous bois and good cherry aromas. The palate is rather silky, the tannins building gently at the long finish.

Jancis Robinson – 16.5+/20

Juicy redcurrant and cranberry fruit with great openness of fragrance, yet tension of structure –lovely acidic zing, then rather full body for Bourgogne. Finishes with charming earthy tones. A great advert for how ambitious Bourgogne can be.
