Since 1831, The Bichot family has been at the forefront of Burgundy wines. Over the course of 6 generations, the house style has become more and more refined and distinct in elegance.With Albéric Bichot at the helm since 1996, the house has focused its future on quality, minimal intervention winemaking and organic farming. The embodiment of this approach resulted in their 6 domaines being fully organically certified since 2018, while receiving praise and awards on the quality of the wines.

It is in this small village with 210 ha (518 acres) of vines located in the northern Côte de Nuits that the most renowned Burgundy reds such as Romanée-Conti and Richebourg are produced. Both the villages of Vosne-Romanée and Flagey-Echézeaux are authorized to use the Vosne-Romanée appellation. Our vines are located in the Damaudes and Maizières vineyards – an alliance between 2 opposed yet very complementary terroirs



Soil – Predominantly brown limestone. Parcel size: Plots totalling 1.0 ha (2.4 acres). Situation: Vosne and Flagey-Echezeaux. Damaudes and Maizières vineyards. Exposure: East. Average age of the vine: 30 to 40 years

Grape Variety – 100% Pinot Noir

Vatting – Temperature-controlled conical oak vats. Vatting time: 20 to 28 days

Ageing – In oak barrels 100%. Ageing time: 14 to 16 months. Proportion of new barrels: 20% to 30%

Tasting Notes

The nose of this Vosne-Romanée features tobacco, tea and mild notes of spice. The palate is velvety with silky tannins, lovely fullness and remarkable balance. The finish is long and aromatic.

Food Pairing – Try this Vosne-Romanée with red meat dishes, game in sauce and most cheeses.

Serve between 15 and 16°C. (59°F – 61°F). This wine may be laid down for 2 to 5 years or more.

Subtle confected fruit on the nose, fully loaded palate with weight and fragrance and persistence. Dry and relatively light in body, but there is great core flavour that persists on the finish, and a touch of soy character to give complexity.

Inside Burgundy – 90 points

From Basses Mazières and Damaudes. Medium deep purple, the oak speaks a little louder than the fruit at the moment. One can see Vosne character, plus some freshness from Damaudes and the weight from Mazières which comes up behind. Good length certainly, more fruit than tannin.

Burghound – 88-91 points

(the blend is mostly from Damaudes with a small proportion of Hautes Maizières). A pretty, fresh and layered nose reflects notes of red currant, lavender, violet and subtle spice notes. There is a really lovely and highly seductive textureto the satiny flavors that culminate in a firm and mildly robust but not really rustic finish. This is worth checking out. 2023+
