The crown represents the Comte de Robien, past owner of the Chateau. Since 2001, both this estate and prestigious neighbor La Tour de Mons belong to the same group, sharing investments and management and being produced with the same care to deliver expressive, powerful and elegant wines.

Tasting Notes

Tasting Notes

The nose reveals notes of blackberry, cassis and fine notes of sour cherry associated with slight notes of Zan and a hint of oak and a touch of cardamom. The palate is fruity, mineral, silky, well-balanced, harmonious, racy, relatively sleek and offers an acid frame as well as a good matter and a good precision of the fruit. On the palate this wine expresses notes of blackberry, cassis and fines notes of strawberry combined with touches of licorice, a hint of toasted oak and a sweet spices. Tannins are fine and elegant. Good length.

bright ‘n’ bushy” nose with brambly red berry fruit mixed with cedar and tobacco scents. The palate is medium-bodied with quite fine tannin, classic in style, with an elegant, easy-drinking finish that appears very harmonious.

Wine Enthusiast – 93 points (2016 Vintage)

Made by the same team as Château Tour de Mons in Margaux, this wine has generous tannins that are balanced by full, berry fruits and tight acidity. Plenty of wood aging has given the wine a firm structure that will soften in due course. This wine needs to wait, certainly until 2023.
