VINEYARDS – Sourced from Columbia Valley vineyards throughout eastern Washington including our Cold Creek, Canoe Ridge Estate vineyards. Columbia Valley vineyards lie in the rain shadow of the Cascade Mountains and receive just 6-8 inches of rainfall annually. Warm, sunny days and cool evening temperatures create ideal conditions for intense aroma and flavor development in the ripening grapes.
WINEMAKING – Riesling grapes were harvested in September and October at the peak of flavor ripeness Fermentation temperatures were maintained at 55-60 degrees Fahrenheit to preserve Riesling’s fresh and fruity character. Our winemaker chooses select lots of Riesling to create this elegant, dry style of Riesling, while maintaining beautiful fruit character.
“”The Chateau Ste. Michelle Dry Riesling is a dry, refreshing style of Riesling with beautiful fruit flavors, crisp acidity and an elegant finish. It offers inviting sweet citrus aromas and flavors. This is an incredibly versatile food wine and my favorite with oysters.” – Bob Bertheau, Head Winemaker
