Story

Story

Château du Petit Thouars is a beautiful family estate in the heart of the Loire Valley, which has been in the family since 1636 and their ancestry, a diplomat for the Richelieu Cardinal. The Château was developed in the 1970’s by the family and is now producing excellent wines in a very traditional way, reclassified from Touraine to Chinon in 2016

Soil – The clay-limestone plateau of tufa sitting overlooking the valley offers an ideal terroir for the cabernet franc vines.

Winemaking – The harvest is done on a later stage for a riper and more mature style, and the vinification is then performed as follows: wine drop, ageing 6 months in tank to preserve freshness and fruit complexity
