Story

Story

A family story… Christophe Pichon took over the estate from his father and acquired his first vines in 1991. Two years later, he invested in a wasteland to plant vines in Saint-Joseph AOC. Today he vinifies 18 hectares spread over Condrieu, Côte Rôtie, Saint-Joseph and Cornas . A production of white and red Vins de Pays completes the range. The entire Pichon family has been striving for finesse and elegance in their wines for more than 25 years.

Wine Enthusiast – 94 points (2017)

Sourced from 50-year-old vines planted on schist soils, this is a gloriously concentrated Syrah packed with luminous cassis and blackberry flavors. Prominent oak tones of smoke, vanilla and cacao are balanced by pristine fruit and a bristling acidic edge. It’s lovely in its youth but should develop depth and complexity through 2030 and hold further still.
