Story

Story

The Champagne COLLARD-PICARD has been founded 1996. It gets its exceptional character in the course of two champagne families which operate two noble terroirs: the right bank of the Marne Valley for the COLLARD branch and the Côte des Blancs for the PICARD family. The ancestral know-how of these real craftsmen has been transmitted for two centuries, from generation to generation. Lending an ear to nature in order to understand and to sublimate her, Olivier and Caroline accompany with smoothness through daily care and an as natural approach as possible (ploughing, grassing, organic fertilizing…). With its address at 15 Avenue de Champagne in EPERNAY, the grower and harvester family company COLLARD-PICARD is guided by an absolute requirement in terms of quality. “More than a family history, a true passion”.

Specifications

Specifications

Exquisitely beautiful Grand Cru Champagne made from 100% Chardonnay from Mesnil sur Oger and Oger.

This 100% Chardonnay cuvée is vinified without malolactic fermentation and matured in oak barrels for over 6 years, and disgorged as Extra-Brut.

Tasting Notes

Tasting Notes

Nose of flint and freshly baked brioche, yellow plums and semi-dried pineapple, fresh almonds and cobnuts, a touch of honey and flinty, white flower finish. The fruit is taken only from the ‘heart of the cuvee’, that’s to say the most luxurious part of the fruit that comes from the pressing. It’s excellent with sushi as an aperitif and served with a fish course.

James Suckling – 92 points

Spiced pear and green melon on the nose, following through to a full body with a creamy texture and medium bubbles. Bitter lemon. Ginger, too. Dosage 4g/L. Disgorged in February 2022. Drink now.
