Located in the heart of the Sancerre Region in Chavignol, the Delaporte Domaine has been handed from father to son for generations since the 17th century. Through an organic approach undertaken in the last generation and judicious oak usage, their wines deliver subtlety, finesse and aromatic complexity.
The vines have a southeasterly exposure that get a great deal of sunshine. Thanks to a diversity of soils types, principally flint (50%) and limestone (50%) which deliver the remarkable and unique minerality to this wine.
Variety – Sauvignon Blanc (100%)
Vine ages – 35 years old minimum
Winemaking – Pneumatic pressing Fermentation in stainless-steel thermo-regulated vats at 18° in October and November Pumping over and aging on lees for three months in December, January and February In March, racking, fining and light filtering before bottling in the spring, so that they will keep all their primary aromas for 3 years and more.
Pale gold with green hints. Very expressive, intense and complex nose with boxwood, rhubarb, blackcurrant, kiwi fragrances and a light vegetal touch (marigold). The entry is soft and round. Bright freshness on the palate, delicate and lively purity. Well balanced and harmonious, it ends with a clean lingering finish.

“Textbook Sancerre, with a chiseled, chalky spine that runs through a bracing mix of lemon zest, white peach and gooseberry flavors. Shows a light flicker of straw on the finish, though this stays zingy overall. Drink now through 2020.”
Jancis Robinson – 16.5 /20
“Light and tight and fresh. Long and really builds towards the end.”
Vine Pair – A-
“Fresh and pure, featuring a firm spine of acidity behind the focused flavors of lime, white pepper and fleur de sel. Crunchy in texture, this shows some character, with great tension through the finish. Drink now through 2025.”
