Based in Ay, a Grand Cru Village close to Epernay, Champagne Lallier is founded on the ‘Art of Eating and drinking well’, which they apply through a vintage-based approach for all their cuvees: 80% minimum of the base vintage for a clear identity and allowing for great versatility on food pairing. Such gastronomic approach rewards the House with presence on many Michelin star tables around the world.
One of the rare houses headed by the winemaker, the Cuvées are crafted exclusively with Chardonnay and Pinot Noir in Grand Cru vineyards, leading to a style of finesse and precision for ultimate drinking enjoyment.
In order to get this pale and delicate colour, our GRAND ROSÉ is crafted as a « millefeuille », alternating layers of Grands Crus chardonnay and pinot noir co-macerated in the tank. Pinot noir and chardonnay both macerate at a hot temperature in order to get an optimal extraction of the colour without extracting tannins.
Blend: 65% Pinot Noir and 35% Chardonnay from Grands Crus vineyards of Aÿ, Verzenay, Oger and Cramant
Vintage: 92% base vintage, 8% of reserve wines
Aging on lees for a minimum of 3 years
Dosage: 8 g/l with liquor prepared in oak barrels
Aspect: Its pale pink colour wheedles our senses.
Nose: With its enchanting aromas of wild strawberry and raspberry, spiced up with citrus notes, they are a delight for our nose.
Palate: The lead is clear and precise; its freshness then mingles with sensual and gourmet notes of wild strawberry.
Food Pairings: For its visual asset, its purity and its freshness, the LALLIER Grand Rosé is the ideal companion for the aperitif. With great finesse, it is also most enjoyable with crustaceans (lobster) or at the dessert served with a red berries charlotte.
Wine Enthusiast – 91 points
‘Made of a blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, all from Grand Cru vineyards, this wine is balanced, with a tight texture as well as ripe berry fruits. Its acidity and minerality are balanced by the richness of the wine and its generous aftertaste. Drink now.’
Wine Spectator – 90 points
“This Champagne is open-knit and balanced, featuring flavors of white cherry, pickled ginger, apple, toast, mineral-tinged chalk and smoke. Fresh, with a subtle finish.”
