Story

Story

A recent success story, Mirabeau was founded by an Anglo-German family moving to Provence in 2009, who set out to create a great Rosé while building a brand that people love. They have now quickly built a reputation as one of the best rosé winemakers in Provence, recognized by consumers and international critics. Approachable, the family has a strong digital and social media activity such as ‘The Wine Show’ on TV.

Tasting Notes

Tasting Notes

Delicious flavours of small red summer fruits precede an appealingly tense mouthfeel with citrus and lime. Polished and crisp. The ultimate aperitif and a perfect partner to Asian cuisine, grilled light meats and seafood. Pure pairs perfectly with fresh oysters with an orange and chorizo dressing or spicy prawn dumplings.

Jamie Goode – Wine Anorak – 91 points
Beautifully packaged this has a slight smoky, spicy framing to it that’s really attractive. Delicate, nicely focused and seamless, with tangerine, fine herbs, a twist of black plum and some cranberry brightness on the finish. Lovely wine.

Decanter – 90 points

Leaving South London in 2010 to set up the Mirabeau domaine in Provence, this energetic English couple have always aimed high. This is their Grenache-led, direct press rosé, which is a little restrained and delicate on the nose initially, but comes alive in the mouth, filling you up with strawberries, redcurrants, grapefruit and fresh garrigue herbs. The acidity is laser fresh and keeps the sweet fruit in check, finishing almost like an elegant white wine. Why not try with Thai food. Drinking Window 2021 – 2022

Wine Enthusiast – 90 points
This is a pretty wine, both in its color and in its immediately attractive fruitiness. That contrasts with a lightly herbal character that brings out the texture and minerality at the end. Drink the wine from late 2021.

Robert Parker Wine Advocate – 89 points
A blend of 70% Grenache, 20% Syrah and 10% Cinsault, Mirabeau’s 2020 Cotes de Provence Rose Pure offers a slightly more tight-knit, more citrusy drinking experience than the Classic bottling. There’s less red berry and more citrus, with hints of tangerine and lime leading the way in this medium-bodied wine and also lingering on the finish.

James Suckling – 92 points (2019 vintage)

Fresh and clean rosé as always with sliced lemon, papaya, plum flesh character. Medium to full body. Firm and refreshing acidity. Solid and focused. Drink now.’
