The 11.5-ha domaine of Philippe Colin started in 2004 when Philippe and his brother Bruno partitioned the family Domaine Colin-Deléger.
His style is pure and elegant, with a true expression of terroir sites and limited new oak treatment, with increasingly larger format barrels that stock the cellar.
A producer with a foot in South Africa as he took over Topiary vineyard in Franschhoek in 2015.
100% Pinot Noir
The “climat” « Les Gravières » is located on the lower part of the hill, between Chassagne-Montrachet and Santenay. It is the vastest Premier Cru, mostly flat, with sandy and gravel soils, hence its name, and rich in actif limestone.
The first impression in the mouth is intense, with smooth tannin and a great structure. During the long length, we can find dark fruit notes. Aromas of spice and toasty oak give way to cherry, raspberry, earth and tobacco flavors in this robust red.
To be served at 14-16°C.
Ageing potential: 7-10 years.
